There is nothing inherently evil about eating of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Outside of God's command to refrain from it, it is simply food. Nobody gets hurt eating it. So why the command to stay away from it?

The tree is like a voting booth. So long as you obey God's command to not eat from it, you vote Him as Lord of your life. If you eat from it, according to the command of Satan, then you vote Satan as Lord of your life.

Adam and Eve voted for Satan and had to leave God's paradise.

Is there a voting booth for us today? Yes. The commandment to keep the Sabbath day.

Outside of God's fourth commandment, it really wouldn't matter what day you choose to "rest." It does not hurt anyone for you to rest or work on any particular day.

But God says, "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."

Satan says, "You don't have to obey the Sabbath commandment."

Who will get your vote today?

Is this where Jol comes in and antagonizes you about how crazy you are for believing in that kind of God ... ? Calls you crazy and immoral and the red-headed step child of Hitler for following the myth called Jesus?

... that he's actually perfect and moral and rational for browbeating you for your inability to escape the social and genetic makeup that has led you to a faithful devotional to fantasy!?

Can't wait!!!!

On the other hand—if you're going to be a Christian, a vote for the seventh-day Sabbath is really the only vote to make. :-)
